just keep sketching !!

Wow !! I have truly surprised myself by not posting a single thing for a year. But i am not taking my self on another guilt trip, rather sharing the sketches i have been doing, as and when i could. Majority of the sketches were done when i could find sometime between tasks at work, or while i was waiting for someone, or in a metro and so on. Mostly i used Staedtler EE pencils for these sketches. These sketches are such a bundle of joy and what goes without saying a lot of learning. I try to get to them when ever i can.

I should certainly stop saying, "Ah it has been ages since i last posted on my blog or oh i don't believe my self i have not posted a, god damn thing on my blog for nearly a year." Seriously i make my self sick ! Well in any case, below are some animations i had done at work and they seemed fun so i decided to post them here as Gifs. I hope you like them a little close to the amount i had fun making them. Hope to share something more fun with you soon !

Festivals and Celebrations

Wow ! It is truly unbelievable that i have not added a post to my blog in almost a year, though i have been working endlessly through out the year. I suppose one reason is because i have been doing lot of contract bound work for companies like Disney. Hence, sharing work becomes really difficult because of copy rights. In any case below i am sharing some production images for one promo i had done for the Disney channel in India. Apart from that this is the festive season in India not just religious  festivals but animation festivals as well. Anifest celebrated it's glorious 15 years this year. Every year Anifest does the noble job of creating a platform for sharing and celebrating animation content from around the world in India. Another unmissable animation festival in India is Chitrakatha conducted by the pioneer in animation education, The National Institute of Design. This festival celebrates animation in it's true spirit at the famous main campus of NID, Ahmedabad. Well, so lets get into the celebration and festival spirit !! :D

Miracles and Mutations

criminal offence !!

Ignoring my blog for this long is truly a criminal offence to me. I hope not to do so ever again. There is so much to share, it is becoming difficult to decide where to begin from. Well, above is the image of a design i had worked on a year back. It was a lot of joy portraying Singapore in three frames. Below are, doodles of some of my colleagues, who are a lot of fun to work with. And yes the illustration of the adorable Ganesha, made today to celebrate Ganesh Chaturti, birth of the god of luck and remover of obstacles.

Among the films i saw since my last post, the ones that have left an impression on me are Frozen, Croods, How to train your dragon 2, Captain America, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,The Edge of tomorrow and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

The cinematic and aesthetic beauty of the Disney movies is unquestionable, and Frozen was the recent example of it. Despite that, Frozen is a remarkable story told in the most unimaginable magical way. To add that the soundtracks are breathtaking, especially, "do you want to build a snowman" and "let it go". Hope you saw it and appreciated it as much as i did. If not, do get your hands on it. Croods, was another hilarious creation by Dreamworks. The manner of portrayal of the life of the stone-age homo sapiens, so as to today's people can relate to it renders me speechless. The characters, the imaginative scenic beauty has inspired me. I adored How to train your Dragon so much, that just the fact that i will get to see more of the world of Hiccup and Toothless, had me exhilarated. Though it being a sequel, which have reputation of not living up-to expectations, i did enjoy it.  I will be writing about the other movies soon with some fan art.

A certain number of artists were short listed for the art works and i am proud to mention i was one of them.
